Positivo-Negativo / Positive-Negative

This project is the result of a workshop self-organized by the students of the Iuav University. The theme was the binomial of opposites “positive/negative” declined in order to create an alphabet and then collected and explained in a fanzine.

I interpreted the the concept of “positive/negative” looking at it from a formal point of view. I thought about stamps as both something related to typography, and so the alphabet, and also as something negative which create a positive print. Then I wanted my stamps to refer to the ephemeral nature of the fanzine publications, so I had the idea of impressing the letters on the skin, as the the unintentional marks that we can do everyday with things like bags handles or headphones cables. The publication shows both technique and alphabet through photographies.
