This was my BA graduation project. Cinemag is a two-monthly magazine about cinema and it focus on the connection between cinema and other cultural fields.
I had to design both contents and form of the magazine.
Contents are divided into different sections: “Report and people” it’s the part that collects all the reports about movies and people involved in their creation; “Blow up" contains special reports and insights about relevant topic in the cultural or cinematographic field; “Beyond the Screen” groups reports connecting cinema and other cultural fields like music, kitchen or literacy; “Reviews” contains critical reviews of all movies you can watch in theatres in the period; “Events” informs about relevant appointments of the period, and finally the section “In the Next Issue” anticipates some contents of the next issue.
The visual communication of the content try to find a way to approach the magazine visual language to the one of cinema. This purpose is realized by a large use of images taken from movie scene. In the section “Blow up” of the magazine there is an insight about a subject, changing in every issue, all explained using only movie images and no text (excepting very brief captions).
The choice of this particular way of communication is because I find interesting the fact that a magazine of cinema focuses his attention also in the diffusion of the cinematographic language in order to put the reader, when possible, closer to the object he is reading about.
